WEDDING TRADITIONS

WEDDING ANNIVERSARY

Where did this celebration originate?

The tradition has its origins in Germany, during medieval times, where if a married couple celebrated 25 years of marriage, the woman was given a silver crown, it was a way to congratulate the couple for the good luck of to have a union that has endured in harmony for so many years. Celebrating wedding anniversaries is the moment in which every couple can express the love they feel every day. A wedding anniversary is celebrated every year and the most significant is the 50 years of marriage (Golden Anniversary).

This celebration is similar to the one that takes place during courtship.
After the bride and groom are engaged in a wedding, they spend their honeymoon somewhere in the world, for example: The newlyweds spend their honeymoon in the Baru Islands.
